First few days on the ground

Well it was a fair shift getting to Uganda but after a couple of changes in Amsterdam and Nairobi I landed back in the country I’d spent several years living and working in. It was gloriously unchanged. A few new roads, but a fair few more cars and motorbikes.

First day was just a few meetings with folk, mainly social, catching up on sleep and a good amount of time at the desk prepping interview questions and shot lists for the first day of shooting.

That first day was simple in a sense but very important. We were interviewing Prof Bob Nakileza, an expert in glaciation to talk about the scale of glacier loss and the significance of it culturally, economically and environmentally.

It went well, certainly from a content point of view.

A 6pm finish, back to the hotel, a spot of food and then several hours backing up footage and repacking bags ready for the next phase.
